The term Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC) has been around for many years and is used in numerous applications to identify the individual that has overall responsibility for welding and fabrication related activities.

In some application standards there may be specific qualification that the individual will have to gain to perform their tasks as a RWC.

Where no specific qualification is specified in an application standard and / or contract, employers or the RWC should satisfy the requirements in Annex B of ISO 14731.

To ensure the RWC is competent to carry out tasks you can engage Weld-Qual to perform a competency assessment on the nominated RWC. This process can also be applied to other Welding Coordinators within a manufacturing organisation. Knowledge does not confirm competence, compliance through competence is the only correct way for an individual to perform their tasks.

By utilising certified International and European welding engineers Weld-Qual can carry out welding coordinator assessments to ensure compliance.

Do not hesitate to contact us if you wish to discuss assessment options in further detail.
